Govt Approves Evacuation for Chishimba Kambwili’s Specialized Medical Treatment
President Hakainde Hichilema has directed the Ministry of Health to facilitate the evacuation of Patriotic Front (PF) member of the central committee, Chishimba Kambwili, for specialized medical treatment abroad.
The decision came after President Hichilema was informed about Mr. Kambwili’s deteriorating health condition approximately 10 days ago.
Minister of Health, Sylvia Masebo, confirmed the directive from President Hichilema, stating that similar to previous cases, Mr. Kambwili will be evacuated abroad for specialized medical attention.
While the exact details of the evacuation, including the destination and timing, are yet to be disclosed, Minister Masebo assured that she would gather the necessary information.
In response to the government’s decision, Mr. Kambwili expressed his gratitude to President Hichilema and the United Party for National Development (UPND) administration for displaying brotherhood by approving his evacuation to either India or South Africa for the required medical attention.
Mr. Kambwili, facing health challenges, emphasized that his sugar levels and blood pressure have been increasing, and he believes specialized medical treatment is crucial.
The approval for Chishimba Kambwili’s evacuation highlights the government’s commitment to prioritizing the health and well-being of all citizens, irrespective of political affiliations.
Further updates regarding the details of the evacuation are expected to be provided by the Ministry of Health in due course.
