WWF Zambia Appoints New Country Director
World-wide Fund for Nature (WWF) the world’s leading independent conservation organization with a global network in over 100 countries is pleased to announce the appointment of Nalucha Bernadette Nganga-Ziba as its new Country Director.
With over 15 years of distinguished leadership in public policy and non-profit development, Nalucha brings a wealth of experience to her new role.
In an official statement issued by Benetria Milambo, Communications Coordinator for World Wide Fund for Nature Zambia, WWF Africa Regional Director Daudi Sumba expressed delight in welcoming Nalucha, emphasizing her extensive expertise in program design, strategic planning, and resource mobilization.
Director Sumba stated, “We are delighted to welcome Nalucha, who has a wealth of experience in promoting a human rights-based approach to conservation and development.”
Ms. Nalucha has a remarkable career history, serving as the Country Director of Crown Agents Zambia and ActionAid Zambia. She has also held positions at Grassroot Soccer Zambia and the Non-Governmental Organisations Coordinating Council.
Ms. Nalucha is recognized for her commitment to policy influencing, advocacy, and promoting the participation of women and youth in leadership roles.
With a background in managing large, complex development programs in humanitarian efforts, public finance, tax and economic justice, climate change, and governance, Ms. Nalucha brings a global perspective to WWF Zambia.
Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts with Education and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Zambia, along with a Master’s degree in Communications and Public Relations, and a Master of Philosophy in Constitutional and Administrative Law.
WWF Africa Regional Director Daudi Sumba expressed excitement about Nalucha’s leadership, stating, “We believe that she will build on the existing foundation to propel the office towards more impactful conservation and development efforts that should contribute to our mission and drive positive transformation across Zambia.”
