Minister Tayali Launches SAIAST Expansion and Flying Foods Restaurant at KKIA
Hon. Frank Museba Tayali, the Minister of Transport and Logistics, unveiled the expansion of the Second Southern Africa Institute of Aviation Science and Technology (SAIAST) and the inauguration of the new Flying Foods Restaurant at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA) in Lusaka.
During his address at the event, Hon. Tayali expressed encouragement at witnessing Zambians taking an active role in the aviation sector, traditionally dominated by foreign entities.
The Minister reiterated the government’s dedication to fostering business growth and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services within the aviation industry.
Commending the collaboration between Flying Food and SAIAST, Hon. Tayali encouraged further business expansion to generate more employment opportunities and sustain the provision of inflight meals.
He assured the government’s commitment to supporting such initiatives, ensuring a favorable return on investments.
Acting Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority, Eng. Nathan Kaluba, highlighted the authority’s commitment to guaranteeing safe and efficient air travel. Eng. Kaluba emphasized the crucial role of personnel training in aviation safety and commended institutions like SAIAST for enhancing their training capabilities.
Ms. Mafunanse Malenga, Managing Director of SAIAST, expressed the institution’s unwavering commitment to excellence in aviation education and its vision to shape the future of aviation in the region through the expansion of the aviation school.
Flying Food Restaurant’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Misheck Tembo, proudly stated that Flying Food Company is the first local food company to make inroads into Zambia’s aviation industry.
The event drew the attendance of various stakeholders from the aviation sector, signifying the significance of the expansion and new ventures in the aviation landscape at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.
