ZDA and ZANIS Forge Partnership to Boost Trade and Investment Awareness

The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) is seeking to enhance awareness of the government’s initiatives to improve trade and investment in the country through a strategic partnership with the Zambia News and Information Service (ZANIS).

Albert Halwampa, the Director General of ZDA, highlighted that despite the government’s significant efforts in this area, the lack of publicity has resulted in inadequate appreciation from the Zambian population.

During a courtesy call to the ZANIS Director, Mr. Halwampa emphasized that ZDA is currently involved in various projects to enhance trade and investment, and it is crucial for the citizens to be informed about these initiatives.

The collaboration with ZANIS aims to systematically communicate the progress made in trade and investment, enabling Zambians to recognize the opportunities available for them to contribute effectively to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Mr. Halwampa reiterated that trade and investment are top priorities in the government’s economic recovery agenda, making effective communication vital. Loyce Saili, the ZANIS Director, outlined the operations of ZANIS as both a Public Relations Wing of the government and a news organization.

She expressed ZANIS’s commitment to disseminating information for the agency and shared the recent advancements in the department.

Mrs. Saili revealed that ZANIS has acquired new equipment for full-time broadcasting, enhancing its capacity to reach a broader audience.

Talks with Multichoice have concluded to enable broadcasting on DSTV, further expanding ZANIS’s reach. However, she acknowledged the ongoing challenge of transitioning content from analogue to digital.

The partnership between ZDA and ZANIS is poised to strengthen the communication channels, ensuring that the Zambian population is well-informed about trade and investment activities, ultimately contributing to the nation’s economic growth.

The ZDA team, led by Mr. Halwampa, also had the opportunity to tour the ZANIS premises and studio during the visit.
