Emirates Celebrates UAE’s National Day with Stunning Flypast at Dubai 7s

Emirates marked the UAE’s National Day with an impressive dual flypast at the Emirates Dubai 7s, creating a stunning spectacle that captivated the audience at this iconic event and showcased both national pride and aviation excellence.

Just days after honoring the UAE’s achievements in space exploration, the airline orchestrated a breathtaking flypast featuring its iconic A380. Soaring at an altitude of 500 feet, the aircraft, adorned with Emirates’ new signature livery, gracefully glided over the main pitch at 3:43 pm local time.

The majestic A380 made a second pass exactly five minutes later, saluting world-class athletes and passionate fans gathered for the Emirates Dubai 7s.

The special flight was piloted by UAE National Captain Mubarak Al Mheiri, Deputy Chief Pilot, along with Captain Ricky Garala, Deputy Chief Pilot, and Captain Philippe Lombet, Technical Pilot for the Airbus A380.

Captain Mubarak, with 18 years of service with Emirates, has played a pivotal role in seven celebratory flypasts, including notable events like the Jetman stunt and the opening of the 2023 Dubai Air Show.

The Emirates Dubai 7s, recognized as the biggest and longest-running sports and entertainment festival in the Middle East, attracted over 100,000 attendees this year.

The event showcased the UAE’s vibrant sports and fitness community, featuring over 500 teams participating in rugby, netball, cricket, and fitness competitions. Padel, a new addition to this year’s lineup, added to the athletic spectacle.

Emirates, a global supporter of rugby, has had a remarkable year in the sport, serving as the Official Worldwide Partner of the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France.

The airline has been a proud sponsor of the Rugby World Cup since 2007 and will continue its prominent presence at the 2027 World Cup in Australia.

Locally, Emirates has strengthened its commitment to rugby through partnerships with the Dubai Hurricanes and the UAE Rugby Federation.

Over the past five decades, the airline has played a pivotal role in elevating the profile of rugby within the UAE, fueled by the popularity of events like the Emirates Dubai 7s.

As the Emirates Dubai 7s concluded, the airline reaffirmed its dedication to supporting rugby globally and locally, contributing to the growth and popularity of the sport in the UAE.
