The Zambia Information and Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration and bolstering competency skills in Zambia.
The signing ceremony, which took place at ZICTA’s headquarters and was hosted by ZICTA Director General Eng. Choolwe Nalubamba, saw the presence of Head of ACCA, Ms. Janice Matwi.
This strategic partnership promises to usher in a host of mutually beneficial initiatives aimed at elevating the technology and finance sectors in the country.
At the core of this collaboration is the establishment of a robust framework for collaborative learning and development initiatives.
ZICTA and ACCA are committed to enhancing the capacity building and competency skills of professionals in both sectors, ensuring they are well-equipped to thrive in a rapidly evolving landscape.
One key aspect of the MoU is the development of joint strategies for marketing and public relations campaigns.
These campaigns will serve to amplify the visibility and awareness of both ZICTA and ACCA, making their services and expertise more accessible to the public and relevant stakeholders.
ACCA will play a vital role in supporting ZICTA’s initiatives related to financial literacy training and other similar programs.
By leveraging ACCA’s financial expertise, ZICTA aims to further empower individuals and businesses in Zambia with the knowledge and skills necessary for sound financial management.
Both organizations will tap into each other’s extensive networks of professional and industry contacts.
This collaborative effort will enable them to work cohesively toward shared objectives, promoting innovation and growth within their respective industries.
ZICTA and ACCA are committed to working with schools and universities to enhance the employability of students.
The focus will be on digital literacy, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and joint capacity-building initiatives will be undertaken to ensure that students are well-prepared for the ever-evolving job market.
The partnership will also extend its reach to the ICT Innovation Programme coordinated by ZICTA. Innovators and startup entrepreneurs will receive invaluable support, gaining access to business and financial expertise essential for establishing, managing, and growing their entrepreneurial ventures.
Collaboration will extend beyond specific initiatives, as both ZICTA and ACCA are committed to providing other support opportunities that facilitate an enabling environment for technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship in Zambia.
To further solidify their collaboration, ZICTA will reciprocate by supporting ACCA with learning and development initiatives focused on cyber security and digital literacy for the ACCA member community in Zambia, ensuring they remain up-to-date and equipped to tackle the challenges of the digital age.
The MoU between ZICTA and ACCA represents a landmark partnership that holds the promise of advancing technology, finance, and innovation in Zambia.
By pooling their resources, expertise, and networks, these two esteemed organizations are set to bring about positive change and empower individuals and businesses across the nation.
This collaboration not only marks a milestone in the pursuit of competency and capacity building but also underscores their shared commitment to shaping a brighter and more innovative future for Zambia.
