Zambia Meteorological Department Predicts Rainfall Next Week with Thunderstorms

The Zambia Meteorological Department (ZMD) has issued a weather forecast predicting rainfall in many parts of the country from the 16th to the 20th of October 2023.

This rain is expected to result from the influx of moist and unstable airflow from the northwest, specifically the Congo region.

The upcoming rainfall is anticipated to include thunderstorms and slightly cooler temperatures.

The weather alert explains, “An influx of moist and unstable airflow from the northwest (Congo air) is expected to spread across most parts of Zambia during the forecast period from the 16th to the 20th of October, 2023.

This is likely to bring rain and thunder to various regions of the country, reducing the high temperatures currently being experienced.”

The department advises farmers to take precautions to secure their harvested crops in preparation for the anticipated rains.

Members of the public are also urged to be cautious and take preventive measures to avoid getting wet during the expected rainy period.
