President Ramaphosa Offers Condolences and Appeals for Peace in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

In light of the recent surge in hostilities resulting in a significant loss of life, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa extends his condolences to all victims of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The escalating violence, which has claimed over a thousand lives, has prompted the President to call for the immediate and unconditional opening of humanitarian corridors.

President Ramaphosa expressed his deep concern over the distressing escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the tragic suffering experienced by civilian populations.

He appealed for an immediate cessation of violence and the exercise of restraint. The President stressed the importance of providing essential humanitarian assistance to those in need and alleviating human suffering.

Furthermore, the President urged the international community to expedite its support for an inclusive process aimed at achieving a sustainable and lasting peace that results in the establishment of a viable Palestinian State.

This State would coexist peacefully with Israel within the internationally recognized borders of 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

President Ramaphosa affirmed South Africa’s readiness to collaborate with the international community, offering its experience in mediation and conflict resolution, as it has done both on the African continent and globally.
