FlySafair Successfully Launches Inaugural Flight to Zambia

Ireen Tembo, representing the Zambia Airports Corporation Limited (ZACL) Board, has emphasized the corporation’s commitment to providing top-notch infrastructure and services to both local and international travelers. 

She made this statement during the launch of FlySafair’s first flight to Zambia, held at the Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula Airport in Livingstone.

Ms. Tembo pointed out that FlySafair’s affordable pricing aligns with ZACL’s mission to make air travel accessible to all Zambians. She also revealed ZACL’s goal of attracting more than 1,000 tourists, both domestic and foreign, through their competitive fees.

Regarding FlySafair, Captain Joggie Zeuner, the Executive Manager, expressed the airline’s mission to connect people by offering budget-friendly flights to its customers. 

He praised the Zambian government for granting the airline permission to operate flights to Zambia from South Africa, enabling the company to introduce more routes to and from the country.

The event also featured Rodney Sikumba, the Guest of Honor and Minister of Tourism and Arts, commending FlySafair for launching a new route from Johannesburg to Livingstone. 

Mr. Sikumba expressed his gratitude for the strong bilateral relationship between Zambia and South Africa, noting that this new route symbolizes the warm ties shared by the two nations.

Furthermore, Mr. Sikumba revealed the Zambian government’s ambition to transform the country into a regional aviation hub. Plans are in place to modernize and upgrade all airports in the country, making travel easier and enhancing connections with airlines worldwide.
