Zambian Music Legends Concert Recognized for Uniting People and Celebrating Musical Contributions
The Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Arts appreciates the collaboration between Brand-Line Africa and Smooth Production Insight for organizing the Zambian Music Legends Concert. This event pays tribute to artists who have played a crucial role in shaping modern Zambian music.
In a statement issued by Brand-Line Africa Limited, Communication Officer, Fumba Chama, the Arts Permanent Secretary, commended the Legends Concert for its ability to unite people through music and offer inspiration. He emphasized its importance in acknowledging the significant contributions these musicians have made to Zambia’s music and arts scene.
Mr. Chama is pleased with the upcoming Zambian Music Legends Concert on September 30th, 2023, at Lusaka’s Polo Fields. He emphasized its uniqueness, featuring iconic and influential musicians.
The Ministry remains dedicated to the arts sector and artists’ welfare. This commitment includes finalizing the National Arts Policy and revising the Film Policy, set to launch by year-end. Additionally, the Ministry has partnered with the National Pension Scheme Authority to offer retirement benefits, affordable loans, maternity, and medical benefits for artists.
Luyando Yoyo, Managing Director of Brand-Line Africa, expressed eagerness to collaborate with Government Ministries to promote the arts industry. She urged them to support local arts by purchasing tickets for the Zambian Music Legends Concert.
Ms. Yoyo reaffirmed Brand-Line Africa and Smooth Production Insight’s commitment to nurturing Zambia’s arts development and making the Zambian Music Legends Concert an annual event.
Several companies which includes Great North Road Group of Companies, contributing a K40,000 sponsorship package, Californian Beverages, TopStar, providing sponsorship worth K331,000 through media space, Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC), Diamond TV, Power Media House, Ulendo Taxi, offering a K10,000 sponsorship package and push notifications, Pascal Innovations and Luckson Creations. have joined the Zambian Music Legends Concert’s organizers to ensure its success.
Other partners include Zacs Corner, Sho’dol Cosmetics, UNZA Radio, Hot FM, Kwithu, and Prime TV.
The Zambian Music Legends Concert, a one-day event, honors musicians who laid the foundation for modern Zambian music. Legends like Danny K, Moses Sakala, Angela Nyirenda, Nasty D, James Chamanyazi, JK, Mampi, Izrael, Nalu, General Ozzy, and K’Millian will perform. Supporting artists include Red Lisonso, Choklet, Haamoba, Black Muntu, Shatel, Ty2, Sista D, Maureen Lilanda, MC Wabwino, Viola, and James Sakala.
The concert is set for September 30, 2023, at Lusaka’s Polo Fields, from 12:00 to 23:00 hours.
