Emirates Welcomes Air Canada to Dubai International’s Terminal 3

Air Canada and Emirates have reached a significant customer service milestone in their strategic partnership with the relocation of Air Canada’s operations to Dubai International’s (DXB) flagship Terminal 3. Starting July 26th, the co-location of operations in one of the world’s premier terminals will significantly enhance the connecting experience for customers and underscore the benefits of the partnership established between the two airlines in November 2022.

Passengers traveling between the Americas on Air Canada and the Middle East, Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and Africa on Emirates will now enjoy a seamless and expedited experience, conveniently remaining in the same terminal during their transit in Dubai.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, expressed delight at welcoming Air Canada to Emirates Terminal 3 in Dubai. He emphasized that this move is another step forward in their strategic partnership, aiming to deliver even more value to travelers. With Air Canada’s operations now at T3, customers can enjoy a smooth connection experience when transiting in Dubai onto Emirates’ global network. Eligible passengers can also avail themselves of Emirates’ signature Business Class Lounges and other facilities at the Dubai hub before their onward flight.

Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President Network & Revenue Planning at Air Canada, emphasized the significance of Air Canada’s new home at Dubai International Terminal 3. This relocation strengthens the strategic partnership with Emirates and highlights the importance of flights connecting the UAE and Canada. Galardo expressed appreciation to both Emirates and Dubai Airports for facilitating this move, which will greatly benefit their mutual customers. With seamless onward connections to destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Indian subcontinent through codeshare and frequent flyer partnership with Emirates, Air Canada passengers can look forward to an elevated experience throughout their airport journey.

Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Airports, extended a warm welcome to Air Canada at Terminal 3. Al Joker emphasized the long-standing partnership and shared commitment to delivering exceptional service and guest satisfaction. This relocation will streamline operations for Air Canada and optimize the airport’s efficiency, resulting in an improved travel experience. Terminal 3, renowned for catering to modern travelers’ evolving needs, offers biometric touchpoints, spacious waiting areas, and a diverse selection of dining and shopping outlets.

The first inbound Air Canada flight is scheduled to arrive at Terminal 3 on July 26th, with the first outbound flight departing from Dubai to Toronto on July 27th. Dedicated Air Canada check-in and bag drop counters for Signature Class will be available in the First & Business Class Dropoff area, while Premium Economy and Economy counters will be located at the main entrance. Air Canada Signature Class customers and eligible Aeroplan Elite members (Aeroplan 50K and above) will have access to the Emirates Business Class lounge in Terminal 3.

Since November 2022, the two carriers have continuously expanded their codeshare relationship to 42 routes, enhanced their interline agreement, established a reciprocal loyalty partnership for customers to earn and redeem points, and intensified cooperation between their Cargo businesses. Air Canada has also developed a partnership with Emirates’ sister-airline, flydubai.

The daily Boeing 777 service between Montreal and Dubai, launched by Emirates in July, complements its expanded daily Airbus A380 schedule between Toronto and Dubai. Air Canada will commence its new non-stop four times weekly flights between Dubai and Vancouver on October 30, 2023, utilizing its flagship Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, further complementing its daily service between Toronto and Dubai.

Aeroplan and Skywards members can collect and redeem points while traveling with Air Canada or Emirates, and eligible customers have access to priority check-in, priority boarding, and airport lounges.
